The most secret or our villages
Nested against the Luberon, Les Taillades is a village made of stone. At the top, the historical village and its perched church on the stone quarries remain. Below, the Canal of Carpentras and its superb Moulin Saint Pierre. Its imposing water-wheel is reflecting in the old canal bordered by a beautiful hundred-year-old plane trees alley.
The stone quarry once a quarry, now a theatre. This site is a testimony of the past when the “Tailladais” could live on quarrying (from the Middle Ages to the end of the 19th century). An access path was maintained, while the defense system was strengthened.
The stone quarry was turned into a theatre where several shows take place each summer.
