The expression of a Provençal terroir through exceptional wines
From its lands, a magnificent panorama emerges from the Luberon, with its highest point the Mourre Nègre, to the Aix-en-Provence region with its Sainte-Victoire mountain.
Passionate about wine and the region, the owners of MasLauris dreamed of an exceptional place. A domain where fine and racy wines are produced, anchored in their terroir, in harmony with their environment. The methods used combine traditional and modern winemaking techniques, including natural concrete vats for the production of red wines.
Since 2012, the estate has been completely redesigned. It has benefited from a complete renovation with the construction of a brand new gravitational cellar, preceded by the replanting of nearly 12 hectares of young vines after the uprooting and resting of the land. These vines, coming from the best massal selections, are led in organic farming. In the cellar, the vinifications are carried out in a soft, rigorous way and the most naturally possible with the aim of respecting the harvested grapes. They are carried out under the guidance of Michel Tardieu, a child of Lauris, where the estate is located.
The vines are in one piece around the property and benefit from both exceptional sunshine and cool nights in summer, after often dry and harsh winters. The presence of the Mistral wind in the region brings freshness and ensures an impeccable sanitary state and thus, a healthy harvest. Faithful to its Provencal roots, the vineyard contains grape varieties that produce great wines of the Rhone and the South of France: Serine, Syrah, Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, Carignan and Cinsault for the reds and rosés, Roussanne, Grenache blanc, Vermentino and Viognier for the whites. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand and are picked at optimum maturity, thanks to a rigorous monitoring of maturity carried out by us.
These wines, certified organic, intend to fully restore the typicity of the grape varieties of the Luberon appellation.
